For a while now I've been thinking of upgrading my account so I can change my username. I'm wondering if I should change it to my tumblr username Nattlestuff or a variation thereof, like NattlesArt. (Unfortunately Nattles is taken boo da hoo.) I also thought about using a variation of my real name that hadn't been taken, like NANelson, or something. But I'm not sure how important or professional it is to attach my real name to the art I submit here, since it is just deviantART after all. If I upgrade the account and update my name, I'll announce the change via journal.
Also, what would be the interest in commissions if I were to offer them? I was thinking of cheap sketches starting at a $5-10 range, with lineart and digital flats at a larger range of $15-30 depending on complexity. I would like to offer ACEOs too, but I haven't figured out what would be fair pricing for those yet.
For anyone who buys commissioned artwork, what sort of things do you look for? What skill level or price ranges do you look for? Do you tend to commission fanart or original pieces? Do you look for characters or backgrounds? Etc... I've been out of the art commission loop for a long time, so I'm curious as to what people look for and what makes them want to buy from a particular artist.
